MINIMA PROCESS Raymond Haikal
ok so i missed the last tutorial i hope i didnt miss much but i gained alot by going to the CV08 architecture conerence in sydney!!!!
it was very inspiring and very helpful in a way! firstly i wanna congratulate Marina Kozul our Deakin student who won the dialectical bridge competition and won a ticket to London!!!!
now to the minima side of things. on the first day we had Supertute which is an event that SONA organises every year in the conference to connect students with Practicing architects and academics!!!
in this event you get international and australian architects to tutor you in any projects that you are working on. so i took advantage of this chance and i presented my ideas about minima and the problems that i have with the project. and i got some great advice, and a wide range of opinions and theories about what minimum is from people that have tackled this problem in their practices and in real life projects. with their help and the help from the last tute i attented at deakin b4 i left i was able to FIND THE FORM in the 3 ideas that i explored.
i was advised to explore ideas of minima and minimalism????
the idea of freedom in the space
the suggetivity of the space
the reusability of furniture
and one that was really confusing and thats how minimum is minimum {think of a coffin} or even a cardboard box for homeless people.
these ideas were very deep and i didnt really have to time to treat all but they will surely be of help in projects to come.
